GOVERNMENT ALLOCATES FURTHER $10 MILLION TO PEST CONTROL

The Federal Government has allocated a further $10-million toward pest and weed control.

Lambing rates soared from seven to 80 per cent in some regional areas this year, and the money aims to help prevent feral animals attacks.

It’s in addition to $15 million already announced to build dog fences and control weeds.

183 councils will be eligible to apply for project funding in the latest round.
