ROLL OF RENOWN SET TO REGAIN PRESTIGE

Lee Kernaghan has been named as the next inductee to Country Music’s Roll of Renown.

The 50-year-old is being recognised for taking out the past two Hitmaker of the Decade title’s, and winning Australian of the Year in 2008.

The early announcement comes as organisers try and rebuild the award’s prestige.

“The roll of renown has lost some of its credibility, for whatever reason. Hopefully with what we’re doing today and in the future, we’ll rebuild the Roll of Renown to the pinnacle.”

The Roll of Renown concert will be held during Tamworth’s Country Music Festival on January 17.
