TEENAGER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER OVER CENTRAL COAST FIRE
A teenager has been charged with manslaughter, after a man died in a fire at a shopping centre on the Central Coast earlier this year.
Emergency services were called to the Ebbtide Mall on The Entrance Road at about 4.30pm on Sunday, October 20, following reports of a building fire.
Prominent local artist, 69-year-old Patrick Carroll, was found inside a shop.
NSW Fire and Rescue officers dragged him outside and administered CPR, but he was unable to be revived.
Following inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 13-year-old boy at Wyong Police Station at around 8.30am today.
He was charged with manslaughter and refused bail to appear at a children’s court.
Investigations are continuing.
