Tamworth has made a strong early statement in its quest to win basketball’s State League title, by taking out Yamba’s Prawn Bowl over the weekend.
The Thunderbolts went through the six-match tournament undefeated, beating Bellinger Valley in the final, 49-43.
“We’re playing together as a team right now. We’re clicking on all cylinders right now. We’re moving the ball very well. Pushing the ball up the floor very well. Getting a lot of easy transition buckets.”
With a young squad in 20-16, players were given equal opportunity to impress the coach ahead of next month’s round one road trip to Coffs Harbour.
