Police have charged a man they believe deliberately lit a fire at a Port Macquarie home overnight.
Emergency crews were called to the Grant Street home just before 11pm.
The blaze was extinguished a short time later, but caused substantial damage to the kitchen.
A 30-year-old man was arrested nearby and charged with damaging property by fire.
