WATER RESTRICTIONS ON THE TABLE FOR MORE OF THE NORTH COAST

Ballina, Byron and Lismore residents could soon be placed on Level One water restrictions.

Rous County Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday as Rocky Creek dam levels continue to drop by nearly two per cent each week.

“We need to be acting like the water restrictions are in place now, we can’t go wasting water it’s too precious.”

The region hasn’t seen a dry spell like this since the early 2000’s.
