Traffic was banked up for around two hours on Nelson Bay Road, north of Newcastle this afternoon, after a collision between a truck and a car.
Vehicles queued for several kilometres following the crash at Salt Ash, just before two o’clock.
A man aged in his 50s, suffering head injuries, was taken to John Hunter Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.
