Police and Hazmat officers are examining suspicious powder that spilled from a parcel at a post office at Branxton in the Hunter Valley.
The package was found by a worker around 6.15 on Monday morning and the Bridge Street post office was immediately evacuated.
Three workers who were sorting mail at the time were taken to hosptal as a precaution, one of them was a 44-year-old woman suffering shock and anxiety.
