WALCHA POOL TO REOPEN FOR THE SUMMER SEASON

Some good news for Walcha this week, with the mayor confirming the public pool WILL reopen.

The town’s under level four water restrictions, but Council says the facility is too important and shouldn’t be allowed to run dry.

It’s hoping the move will encourage more children to learn to swim.

“We can’t do without a swimming pool… It’s a big pool to fill, but, on the whole scheme of things, we need to have a pool operating for the town’s sake.”

It’ll open later this month.
