GHOSTS BID FOR NRRRL RETURN REJECTED

The bid by the Ghosts to return to the NRRRL competition in 2020 has been rejected by the New South Wales Rugby League Board.

The reigning premiers, who formerly played in the Northern New South Wales competition, applied to return next year.

While the bid was rejected the rugby leage board said a new application for transfer in 2021 may be given favourable consideration.

Many Group 2 clubs opposed the move by the Ghosts believing it would weaken their competition.
