STATE ROAD TOLL RISES AFTER MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN FAR NORTH COAST CRASH
Police are pleading with motorcyclist to take care on the roads after a driver tragically lost his life overnight.
The 69-year-old was travelling south on Limpinwood Road in Tyalgum during the early houses of Tuesday morning, when he lost control of his bike and collided with a tree.
He was treated at the scene before being flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition but overnight tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Tweed/Byron Police District Duty Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Kehoe is urging riders to drive to the conditions.
“In the last week, two motorcyclists have died on Tweed/Byron roads, with another rider remaining in hospital.”
“Please ride with caution, stick to the speed limit and monitor your conditions,” Det Ch Insp Kehoe said.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
