TWO CHARGED OVER STREET FIGHT AT INVERELL
A wild street fight in the back blocks of Inverell at the weekend has resulted in two people being charged.
Police say they were called to Stirling Street late on Saturday evening, after reports people were fighting on the road.
Extra officers had to be called in to help calm the situation, with two local men taken into custody.
A 49-year-old, who it’s alleged was brandishing a large stick, was charged with being armed with intent to commit a serious indictable offence and affray.
The second man, a 58-year-old, was also charged with affray.
Both were granted conditional bail, and will face court again later this month.
