PILOT RECOVERS AFTER HOT AIR BALLOON MISHAP

A pilot was injured in the Hunter Valley on Monday morning, when her hot air balloon crashed into another while coming in to land at Luskintyre Airfield.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to John Hunter Hospital suffering bruising to her pelvis.

She’s a private pilot from Leeton, in the state’s south, and had been in the Hunter for the annual event.

The mishap came on the final morning of a successful four-day event, which attracted 32 hot air balloons from around the country.

The woman’s since been released from hospital.
