Temperatures along the coast are starting to plummet as the southerly makes its way north.
At Norah Head on the Central Coast, the mercury dropped 13 degrees in just an hour as the hot westerly winds made way for a southerly airflow.
We can expect to see coastal showers overnight, with the front to make its way across the north coast and south east Queensland on Saturday.
The cold change will be short lived however, with the second half of the long weekend set to be a warm one.
Elsewhere, cloud is affecting the nation’s southern coastline, while the inland remains dry.
