FOUR ARRESTED ATTEMPTING TO STEAL COPPER CABLING FROM TERALBA MINE SITE

Four people have been charged after they allegedly tried to steal copper cabling from a mine site at Lake Macquarie.

A perimeter was established around the site on Powerhouse Road at Teralba at around 11:30 on Saturday night.

With the help of the dog squad, police arrested three men and one woman.

Police allege the group, aged between 27 and 54 were in the process of removing a large quantity of copper cabling.

All four were taken to nearby Toronto Police Station, where they were charged.
