TWO KILLED IN HIT AND RUN CRASH AT NAMBUCCA HEADS

Two young women have been killed in a hit and run crash near Coffs Harbour.

Police have been told the pair, aged 24 and 20, were standing outside the Nambucca Heads shopping centre just before midnight on Saturday when they were run down by a passing car.

The vehicle failed to stop, with witnesses rushing to the aid of the injured pair.

Despite their best efforts, the women from Bellingen and Macksville couldn’t be saved.

Police remain at the scene this morning as they continue to investigate the incident.

Officers are hopeful of speaking with two people, who are currently being treated in hospital.
