A school bus has crashed into the rear of a garbage truck in Goonellabah this morning.
With the door smashed in, the 10 children had to scramble out of an exit window to escape.
Three children were treated at the scene for minor injuries, while one girl was taken to hospital with suspected whiplash.
Police say all the children were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
