DOGS RESCUED AS FIRE DESTROYS MUSWELLBROOK HOME

Six dogs have been rescued from a burning home at Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley.

The property on Sydney Street was gutted in the fire, which took hold at around 8 o’clock on Monday evening.

Upon arrival, fire crews found the home well alight, with five puppies rescued from inside a laundry, while a sixth was found outside the back door.

Despite the best efforts of crews from Aberdeen, Denman and Muswellbrook, the home was destroyed.

No-one was seriously injured.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious.
