MAYOR CONFIDENT AMENDED WINNEY BAY TRACK CAN PROCEED

The Central Coast’s mayor says she’s confident the Winney Bay Clifftop Walk can proceed with an amended design.
Infrastructure New South Wales has today confirmed it does not support changes – like the removal of an access bridge – from stage two of the Copacabana track upgrade.
It has instructed the local government the project would need to revert to its original design to keep a $4.6 million grant, giving council around three weeks to state its intent.
But Jane Smith says council will progress an update “more compatible with the local environment and community expectations”.
