ENTERTAINMENT HUB PROPOSED FOR OLD MORISSET COUNTRY CLUB
Developer company Winarch Capital has announced plans to turn the old Morisset Country Club in to a $235 million entertainment and arts hub.
If approved by Council, the 72 hectare ‘Cedar Mill’ would be broken into four sections including a family and community space, concert space, tourism accommodation and lifestyle living.
Member for Lake Macquarie Greg Piper believes the proposal will be embraced by the majority of the community, but is urging people to have their say.
“I’d really like to see people get involved with this process and have their say on the plan when it goes on public exhibition.”
It’s estimated the development could create more than a thousand jobs during construction, and almost 500 permanent jobs once operational.
Reporter Madison Scott will have a full report.
