GRAEME LAWRENCE’S CIVIC HONOURS REVOKED

The fall from grace continues for Newcastle’s former Anglican Dean, Graeme Lawrence, with Newcastle Council formally revoking his civic honours.

Overnight, Lawrence was stripped of his Citizen of the Year and Freeman of the City awards, having been found guilty last month of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in 1991.

Sentencing proceedings begin next month.
