There’s good news on the way for those in the drought affected Hunter Valley, with small totals expected in the rain gauge over coming days.
It’s not so good news for those in the state’s north west though, with the dry run to continue.
The showers will be the result of a deepening trough along the coast, with the heaviest of the falls expected along the coast and nearby ranges.
We may also see storms alongside this system, with the Hunter & Central Coast likely to see the first spits of rain throughout Thursday.
The approaching trough will also drop temperatures, with the final days of winter set to be cold.
