Police have recaptured a prisoner who escaped while receiving treatment at Port Macquarie Base Hospital on Sunday morning.

A prisoner is on the run after escaping from custody at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Twenty-eight year old Matthew Furner pushed two guards over and assaulted a nurse while making his escape – with a warning shot fired as he fled into bushland.
