The Federal Member for Lyne is setting up a committee, to entice more university students to study, live and work in Taree.
Doctor David Gillespie says he’s looking to establish a stronger “uni presence” in the Manning Great Lakes region, as part of what he’s dubbed the “Taree Universities Campus project.”
He says if more students choose to study locally, it would stimulate the economy – looking to small universities in Queensland and Western Australia for inspiration.
