Lismore City Council is offering $20,000 affordable housing grants for families and individuals looking to buy new land lots.
The scheme is part of the Federal Government’s Building Better Regional Cities program, designed to help low to moderate income earners achieve home ownership.
Individuals earning less than $88,000 are eligible, or a family with a combined income of less than $135,000.
“At the moment we’re seeing a lot of demand in the area, with the hospital coming on stream, a lot of people down sizing from large properties, trying to look for smaller lots”
There are 200 grants available for six major land releases in the Lismore LGA.
