SNOW EXPECTED AS WILD WEATHER BATTERS NEW SOUTH WALES COAST

Strong winds are continuing to batter parts of the New South Wales coast, with gusts in excess of 90km/h already recorded.
A severe weather warning remains in place across the Hunter, along with parts of the Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands, with damaging winds expected.
Nobbys Head this morning recorded a gust of 93km/h, while wind speeds at Kempsey reached 70km/h just after 10 o’clock.
Snow is also expected across Alpine parts of the state, including the Barrington Tops.
At Stockton, around 30 residents had to be evacuated from the Wescott Community Care centre, after part of the building’s roof was blown off.

There are also changes to Newcastle transport, with ferry services suspended.
On Thursday, strong winds brought down a large pine tree at Moonan Flat, north-east of Scone, narrowly missing the local hotel.
