REGIONAL JOB LOSSES EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS

Almost five hundred regional jobs will be lost at Essential Energy over the next five years, according to documents obtained by the Electrical Trades Union.

It’s understood these are in addition to the more than one-hundred-and-eighty positions slashed just last month.

Since 2012 the energy company has nearly halved its workforce.

The Union has called on the government, company and broader community to look at other alternatives to job cuts.
