OLDIES BECOME SLAM POETS AT BYRON WRITERS FEST

Visitors to the Byron Writers Festival on the weekend were treated to a special performance from a group of elderly wordsmiths.

20 seniors tried their hand at slam poetry, in a so-called ‘Gran Slam showcase.’

The oldest competitor was 98.

It’s part of a project by Feros Aged Care designed to make sure seniors’ voices are being heard.
