ROUGHER CONDITIONS ON DAY THREE OF LENNOX LONGBOARD CLASSIC

Woolgoolga’s Aaron Howe has taken out the men’s open division at the Lennox Longboard Classic, beating defending champion Scott Shannon.

Scores were so close in the ladies’ open that there was a rare countback, with Lee Middleton named the winner.

Meanwhile, Scott Dorrough was the best performer in the over 50s division.

Surfers battled some difficult conditions in the second half of the day, resulting in several broken boards.
