MCDONALD RIVER SITE A POTENTIAL LOCATION FOR WALCHA DAM FACILITY

The next step has been taken in securing future water sustainability for Walcha.
The town’s council has decided to proceed with the McDonald River Feasibility Study.
A private property near the McDonald river pumping station was favourably selected as the potential location for a new dam.
The proposed site would operate at around $120 thousand dollars a year, making it the most affordable option for the proposed 300-megalitre facility.
Council is now pushing for financial support from both the State and Federal Governments to progress with construction plans for the dam.
