After another unusually dry winter, the Rural Fire Service is once again bringing forward its official bushfire season.
The danger period starts today for 12 areas, including Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell and Tenterfield in the north-west and Nambucca, Taree and Kempsey on the mid-north coast.
The RFS is asking us to be on high alert, with more than 98% of the state still in drought.
