RATE RISE ON THE HORIZON FOR GREAT LAKES

Residents in the Great Lakes area may be forced to foot larger rate bills next year following Council’s application for an additional 3.5 percent increase.
The money will help to fund infrastructure backlog in the area.
“Our information on our assets tells us that we need about an extra million dollars into roads- rural sealed roads so the intent is to apply that money into that,” Great Lakes Council’s Steve Embry said.
Council will hold a number of meetings next week to update the community on its current financial position and plans for the future.
