MAGISTRATE SLAMS WEBSITE FOR DRUG DRIVING ADVICE

The New South Wales Centre for Road Safety has come under pressure to change its advice to drivers, after a magistrate described information on its website as “absurd” and “inaccurate.”
34-year-old Robert Collier was charged with high-range drug driving last year, after testing positive for cannabis on his way to work at the Nimbin Mardigrass Festival.
He was found NOT guilty in Lismore Local Court yesterday because he had obtained advice from the Road Safety website that the drug WOULDN’T be detectable after 12 hours.
A magistrate called this a “cruel under-estimation.”
The centre says its website does not offer “legal advice” and at this stage, there are no plans to change what it says.
