HUNTER RAID UNCOVERS OVER $4000 OF COUNTERFEIT MONEY
A Hunter man has been charged with a string of offences, including drug supply, after police found a concoction of drugs, weapons and counterfeit money at a property in East Maitland.
In May, officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District established Strike Force Dunwell to investigate the supply of illicit substances in the local area.
Following inquiries, officers searched a house on Narang Street, East Maitland, just before midnight on Thursday.
Officers allegedly uncovered 115 grams of ice, 33 grams of cannabis, a replica prohibited firearm, an extendable baton, over $4000 in counterfeit Australian $50 notes, documentation and electronic devices, believed to be stolen.
The 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene, charged with drug supply and stealing.
The man has been refused bail, and is due to appear before Maitland Local Court on Friday.
