An abandoned house at Belmont at Lake Macquarie has been completely gutted by fire.
Firefighters worked for around three hours to extinguish the flames, which took hold at around 12:30 on Tuesday morning.
Good work from fire crews ensured the blaze on the corner of Macquarie Street and Brooks Parade didn’t spread to nearby homes.
The scene remained roped off on Tuesday morning, with investigators working to determine whether there was asbestos within the building.
