MAITLAND SCORE NARROW WIN OVER GOSFORD IN LOCAL AFL

In Round 11 of AFL’s Black Diamond Cup, Killarney Vale beat Warners Bay, Newcastle City smashed Nelson Bay and Terrigal Avoca over-ran Cardiff.

Singleton scored a 59-point win over Wyong Lakes and Maitland beat Gosford.

The visitors seized an early opportunity at Max McMahon Oval – Alec Sproule from right in front to open the scoring.

Maitland managed to hit back quickly, and after a see sawing first two periods the Saints pulled away to run out nine point winners.
