=== SUNDAY ===
A Gosford man is in custody after allegedly leading police on a dangerous pursuit on Sunday morning.
Police say the 39-year-old was caught speeding along Matcham Road at Matcham – before he crashed into an embankment and fled the scene with two passengers.
It’s alleged he stole a vehicle from a nearby property and drove through the police perimeter injuring the hand of an officer.
Another pursuit began but was called off, when the accused allegedly reversed into a police car at high speed.
He was eventually arrested in Gosford and charged with a string of offences.
Two police officers have since been released from hospital.
