FORMER DETECTIVE GARY JUBELIN CHARGED WITH MISCONDUCT OFFENCES
Former New South Wales detective Gary Jubelin has been charged with alleged misconduct offences, which relate to the investigation into the disappearance of William Tyrell
The four offences fall under the Surveillance Devices Act, with the 57-year-old set to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court late next month.
It’s alleged Jubelin used his mobile phone to record someone without a warrant at Parramatta and at Kendall on the state’s mid north coast.
The maximum penalty linked to the offences is five years behind bars.
Jubelin, through a statement from Barrister Margaret Cunneen SC, has denied the charges.
“Detective Chief Inspector Jubelin denies any wrongdoing whatsoever and will strongly defend the charges against him,” read the statement.
The 47-year-old resigned from the force last month, having worked on a number of major cases including the disappearance of William Tyrell, as well as the Bowraville murders.
More tonight at six.
