STATE AG MINISTER SAYS RAIN ISN’T DROUGHT BREAKING

Parts of the north-west have had a light sprinkling of rain in recent weeks but Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall says it’s far from drought-breaking.
“Things are still looking quite grim right across the state. We’ve got around 98 percent of the state in the midst of drought.”
Some landowners are experiencing what’s called a “green drought.”
Grass sprouts make the land look green, but it’s not enough to feed livestock.
