Teams from rural and regional areas, such as the Hunter, Tamworth and Bathurst, outclassed rivals from Australia’s biggest cities at the third annual Tri-Fit Games, held at Gateshead over the weekend.
Athletes ranged from beginners to advanced categories, with local team Crossfit Raw Commando taking out the open male division.
More than 600 competitors took part, testing their fitness across gymnastics exercises, to weight lifting and cardio.
