Lismore’s ‘Friends of the Koala’ rescue centre is being recognised as a world-class treatment centre after implementing new onsite veterinary treatment.
Previously koalas had to be transferred to local vets or hospitals by volunteers if care was needed.
The onsite treatment is already having a positive effect the animals in care.
It’s hoped the new treatment will also reduce wait times for emergency care.
