PORT MACQUARIE MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO TAKE YOUNG BOY

A 68-year-old man has been refused bail, after he allegedly tried to take a child while inside a shop at Port Macquarie.
Officers arrested the man at a business on Short Street around 6 o’clock on Thursday evening, after it was reported to police that he allegedly attempted to usher the nine-year-old out of the store earlier in the day.
The boy’s mother, who was inside printing photos, grabbed the child, before yelling at the elderly man as he left.
The man faced Port Macquarie Local Court on Friday and was refused bail.
He’s due back in court in July.
