Emboldened by the recent support for the Greens in the seat of Newcastle, Councillor John McKenzie wants the city to strengthen its stance on offshore exploration.
“I’m asking council to come on board with the 18 other council around the country that have declared their opposition to offshore mining and drilling in the Great Australian Bite.”
He’ll put a motion before council next Tuesday.
