LABOR’S KATE WASHINGTON ‘CONSIDERING’ TILT AT LEADERSHIP

Meanwhile, Port Stephens MP Kate Washington says she’s still considering putting her hat in the ring for the leadership, when nominations open tomorrow.
“There’s a lot of considerations to take into account in this process including my young family and I’m still making that decision but the support that I’ve received from my colleagues and party members has been really heart warming.”
Ms Washington has echoed calls by Labor colleague Joel Fitzgibbon for a strong regional focus, following the party’s state and federal election failures.
