CHILD NEGLECT AND DRUG SUPPLY CHARGES IN WEST KEMPSEY
Two people have been charged with child neglect and drug supply after police searched a property in West Kempsey.
Police say they stopped a vehicle at about 10am yesterday on Sea Street and arrested a 41-year-old man and 29-year-old woman.
With the assistance of the police dog unit, a home on North Street was later searched where officers allegedly located a large quantity of prohibited drugs.
“Police located 82 separate foils of heroin as well as other drugs, prescribed drugs, jewellery, computer equipment and cash. But most disturbingly was the fact there were 5 children under the age of 9 years of age within those premises” – Supt. Paul Fehon.
The woman appeared in court today and was granted bail.
The man was refused bail to front court in June.
