MORE OFFICERS TO CATCH CHEATING TRAIN COMMUTERS

A recruitment drive will see extra transport officers on Central Coast trains, in an attempt to catch cheating commuters.
An additional 65 officers will be employed as part of a network-wide blitz on fare evasion.
The State Government says they’ll be able to issue fines and will be fitted with hand-held Opal card readers to make sure travellers are tapping on before boarding.
The extra officers will begin patrols mid next year.
