COMMUNITY CALLS FOR REHAB CENTRE
Calls have been renewed for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre to be set up in the New England, in the lead-up to the federal election.
Tamworth mother Narelle Langfield says her son suffered an irreversible brain injury due to alcoholism.
She believes early treatment might have changed his life.
“Our patients are still dying because of the lack of services so we’re stirring up the campaign again to get some action and help these families.”
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson raised the issue in parliament in March last year, but so far, no funding has been allocated.
