MAN ALLEGEDLY THREATENS TO BLOW UP PUB AFTER BEING KICKED OUT
A Casino man who allegedly threatened to blow up a pub he’d just been kicked out of on ANZAC Day has been charged.
Police say when asked to leave the venue due to his behaviour, the 53-year-old went to a nearby pay phone and called 000, saying he’d left a bomb which would detonate in 10 minutes inside the building.
The threat triggered a large scale response from emergency services, including the Bomb Disposal Unit, Paramedics and NSW Fire & Rescue.
A search of the venue failed to locate any explosive.
The 53-year-old was arrested at a Hotham Street address and charged with a number of offences including giving false information.
He was granted conditional bail and is due back in Casino Local Court next month.
