NEWCASTLE MAN ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT DRINK DRIVING TWICE IN ONE NIGHT
A 49-year-old man has been charged with two counts of high range drink driving, after he was allegedly caught behind the wheel twice in one night.
Officers stopped a Holden Colorado on Maitland Road at Mayfield just before 10 o’clock on Sunday evening at an RBT site.
The Carrington man returning an alleged reading of 0.198.
Police will allege that around an hour later the man was seen trying to move his car. Police again tested the man, returning the same reading.
He’s been granted bail and will face Newcastle Local Court in June.
Meanwhile, a Nelson Bay man has had his licence suspended after he returned a breath test reading more than four times the legal limit.
The 33-year-old was stopped on the Pacific Highway at Gordon in Sydney’s north at around 2:20 on Monday morning, where he returned an alleged reading of 0.228.
He’ll face Hornsby Local Court at a later date, charged with high range drink driving.
