A 12-year-old girl is recovering in hospital, after she fell from a horse in the Upper Hunter.
The young girl suffered back and neck injuries in the fall at Merriwa Showground on Sunday morning.
She was taken to the local hospital, before being transported to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
It’s the second serious accident involving a horse in the past 24-hours, after a 15-year-old girl was injured on a property outside Merriwa on Saturday morning.
She was flown to hospital suffering back injuries.
